Can anyone reassure me a bit while I'm waiting for the midwife to call me back? At 17+3 I don't think I've felt any movement yet - I've had the odd rumbling but it could have been wind, or anything really. I wasn't skinny minny before I was pregnant, but I wasn't enormous either (size 14, 16 on a bad day). Is this normal? Should I be worrying? I am aware that I'm worrying much more with this one than I did last time but it's 6 years on so my memory is hazy and any comments or help would be much appreciated. I'm hoping the midwife will agree I can come in to check for a heartbeat when she calls back but in the meantime TIA. BTW, no previous miscarriages or anything, this is just pure irrational fear.

WWW, fantastic news. Just the start to the day we need!
Ghosty, that's a lovely story

www - glad everything is ok. I'm 19 wks now and haven't really felt much movement either. Maybe the heat is making them be lazy!

There is definitely something in that, Chanel. Even with my extra lagging, a small glass of iced water (drunk not chucked over bump, jolly tempting though) has had an instant effect in recent days. Well, I'd rather be asleep in this weather than attempting to keep up appearances, I guess little ones are the same...

Thanks! Or maybe I'm just sedentary and FAT! Ah well, plenty of time to worry about that in 2004

im 17 weeks and jus wondering wen i mite feel the 1st movments
mum cant remember wen she had them with me
but everyone keeps asking and i really cant wait

I felt DS1 at about 17 weeks - I knew what it was because a limb poked out! It was earlier with DS2 because my stomach muscles had all gone to pot. The early movements are a lot like wind or your digestive system gurgling.

That fist kick is exciting I still got excited 2nd time round. Enjoy it!! It's kind of weird when you've had your baby and there are no more kicks.
