Still pregnant?

Okay, I'm 36+ weeks and inclined to be grumpy. But why is it that people, especially those I haven't seen in a few weeks, will say "Oh, still pregnant?" as if I'm incubating this baby for an unreasonably long time?

Is this just me, or have you experienced a kind of impatience from others. How dare we waddle around for months on end, declaring our sexual activity to all the world? I'm small framed and hugely bumped so I'm getting paranoid that I'm making others uncomfortable with my blatant animal fertility and they just want me to stop already.

Even close friends that I don't regularly see are a bit that I haven't had this baby yet.

I think the only person that's feeling this way right now is me! And this from someone who didn't even know she was pregnant until 12 weeks.

All my friends still seem really excited for me, which I'm grateful for as it's keeping me going.

Q. Still pregnant?
A Yes, and I will continue to be for about 9 months.

Q. Have you had it yet? (if asked repeatedly)
A. Oooh, yes, weeks ago. Must have forgotten to tell you.

Q. Any twinges yet? (on the phone.)
A. Yes, a few. Oh,oh,oh here comes a big one got to go! (And put the phone down. Then switch it off.)

And my prefered method for this time round? Adding at least 2 weeks to your due date and the NEVER EVER mentioning induction or anything like that. Then, even if you have to be induced because you are 2 weeks late noone else will be quite as on tenterhooks as you are. Your little secret .

The trouble with adding two weeks is that they would then stare at my bump, clearly thinking "surely not, surely that bump was due yesterday?"

dont be so grumpy! they are only making conversation and trying to sound sympathetic.

Love the suggested answers though to the comments, i dare you to say some of them and come and report the reactions to us

(disclaimer: It is fucking annoying i know, but honestly they are not doing it to perposfully bug you)
