not getting stressed yet as only got doppler this morning and already had lots of good advice from other threads but just wondering if anyone couldn't find their baby's heartbeat?

I am currently 10+5 ish and I'm following all the tips...

thanks nemo...I also just read an old thread wher mears said that the mw shouldn't even have been doppling at less than 16wks!!

This is my first and some people seem to pick the heartbeat up earlier with subsequent pg's...

It's too early!

Nemo1977 · 09/07/2005 12:09

my mw got hb at 12wks for me but thats becuase i have had 3mcs and hospital wouldnt book another scan as i had one at 8wks...she found it easily but did say it went against recommendation so she had to justify it in my notes

My doppler did not work until 12 weeks +. Most state on them they can't work until babies heart is loud enough to detect. So don't worry just expect to hear a cute if weak little heart beat from around 12 weeks!

Teuch I have put some advice for you on feb thread and doppler WOW thread!

dramaqueen72 · 09/07/2005 13:13

I picked up heartbeat at just before 11wks- but really didnt expect too. try not to stres this early on, its very early to find it. leave it a week, try again, if no luck leave it a week try again etc.
and dont forget how very low they are at that stage. plus moving the doppler too fast will definately miss it.

GOT IT!!!

Had some lunch as wisely recommended, nemo, then had oe last bash (I was planning to put it away for a week if no luck...)

Heart rate of around 170bpm...that sounds right doesn't it?

Thank the lord for mumsnet...i would neither have had the doppler in the first place, nor been able to stay calm and find the elusive heartbeat without you!
