The Madwoman in the Attic?

So, am I the only one, or is anyone else out there the Madwoman in the Attic?

I'm 28 weeks pregnant with DD1 (already have a DS1 who is 2.5 and I'm a fulltime SAHM). Since I stopped feeling first-trimester-crappy I've been nesting like a crazy ole' neat freak... Yes, I am normally very tidy, yes I do have Type A control-freaky-tendencies but maybe I have actually gone insane this time...

I have cleaned out Every. Single. Drawer. And. Cupboard/Wardrobe. In. The. House. Cleaned out as in taken it all out, sorted it into stuff I use/don't use and taken the Don't Use pile to Goodwill. And if I haven't been able to reach it/too heavy, I've made poor old long-suffering DH do it.

Then, this weekend, I went to Babies 'R US ( I know, I know....) and stock-piled sunscreen for toddler, toothpaste and toothbrushes for ditto, baby/toddler medicines - enough to last us through to the Second Coming, at least.

So, am I the only one or are there any others out there? I think DH needs to know as much as I do... he's starting to back away from me when I walk into rooms he's in

You can come and sort my house out next if you run out of house to do at home

Hello, come on up to my house - I need you

Pingpong · 02/02/2010 09:29

er no I am the complete opposite. House is full of cr@p that needs sorting out and my MIL is queen of the carboots sales and likes to bring a bundle of stuff every visit so instead of getting rid of stuff we accummulate more and more each week. Sometimes we are firm and make her take it back other times I'm too soft and it just sits there. Last week she brought down a toddler toilet twice. DH took one look at it and put it back in her car - she then thought he hadn't taken it out at all so brought it back 2 days later. Can't she see what can't move for stuff?
I know I need to clear stuff out but I just don't have the energy (I'm 36w btw)so I'm sorry I can't reassure you at all.

Please come to my house and tidy up for me!

I am 28 weeks. Working 4 days a week, mess everywhere... wish I could be bothered to put maternity clothes in wardrobe rather than using plastic crates as drawers.

Have tomorrow off. Am going to force myself to put clothes away.

Alright, ladies - where do you all live, then I can come over and sort you out when I am done here... I think that's the only possible solution to my madness

I'm 15 weeks and doing the final year of my social work degree, have 2 dd's, go to uni one day a week and placement 4 days a week. Oh and assignments in the evenings and weekends.....and I'm still using ANY spare moment to think about/worry about cleaning and clearing out ready for dc 3 . And my house is pretty clutter free lol, so I know where you're coming from.

I just imagine that when the baby comes I'll live in a perfect house with nothing needing to be done - yeah right that'll never happen so don't know why I'm fooling myself hehe
