i just need to moan. I'm 17.4 weeks, I know everything is ok but I have been stuck in bed since Sat eve and can't seem to muster the energy to stand up. I feel like I've been hit by a truck. I keep having nosebleeds and my head is splitting. And my bump is cramping loads.

I know this is all perfectly normal and nothign to worry about but has anyone had this and if so when will it stop??? I have a deadline and need to work!!!

Thanks.

You need to see a doctor ASAP - this is not normal, especially if you do not normally have nosebleeds.

Don't want to worry you but it doesn't sound normal to me, I agree with CMOT, you need to be seen by a doctor as soon as possible. Ring NHS Direct for more advice, hope you're feeling better soon.

hey....don't scare her! nosebleeds and headaches are known headaches of pregnancy. i would get the cramping checked out just to reassure you.

fwiw, i'm 12 weeks and have the mother of all headaches which has been with me since yesterday....not fun.

OhFuck · 01/02/2010 11:59

Agree, doesn't sound "normal" to me. Don't worry yourself silly, but phone your GP, midwife or NHS Direct right now.

Heathcliffscathy · 01/02/2010 12:13

hopefully she is at doctors now.

randomama · 01/02/2010 12:20

Sorry, we didn't want or mean to scare you, hopefully it is nothing, but it's always best to get these things checked out! Hope you're feeling better soon.

went to docs on midwife's advice. bp is fine. small infection in nose (???) hence nosebleeds. she's took some bloods and urine just to check everything else. great thing was i heard my baby's heartbeat, which was lovely and reassuring.
doc reckons i just need to rest for a while. tbh i was poorly in hospital between xmas and new year and I haven't had a day off all January. Think I maybe need to be a bit kinder to my body, seeing as though its doing all this work building a baby and that!
thanks everyone though. Actually feel loads better just for seeing the doc. x

fab news random....yes, consider this stern orders to take better care of yourself, pregnancy massages, lots of sickies and indulgence at every turn: sophable bangs gavel.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 01/02/2010 19:54

Oh, that's good. Glad you're ok! x

foxinsocks · 01/02/2010 19:58

god you poor thing!

don't forget to keep drinking liquids - I also got a lot of nosebleeds and sinus infections in pregnancy. I would forget to drink and then start getting horrid cramps. MWs told me it was linked to me starting to get dehydrated (and lo and behold, when I upped my fluids, the cramps did go away).

put your feet up you and take some time off work

i don't know if you believe in homeopathy and such, but new era do some tissue salts, the one you're after is ferr phos number 4. ds suffered repeated nosebleeds for ages, started him on these (totally safe in preg, according to naysayers there's nothing in them!) and he hasn't had a nosebleed since. they need to be taken every day though, we stopped for a bit and his nosebleeds came back.

worth a try given that they're totally safe and only cost a few quid?

thought i'd mention it.
