Hi, I'm 35+3 and have developed some small but raised moles on my nipple. Any idea if this is normal due to colour change & growth or should I be worried?

On your nipples??
Or on your aureola?

Is this your first pregnancy? If so, could it be Montgomery tubercles or glands?

Sorry about all the questions . Lots of skin changes including moles happen during pregnancy, the vast majority of them totally normal although often permanent.
If in doubt get a doctor to have a look. Honest, we they have seen it all before...

You really cannot get a mole diagnosed without showing it to somebody.

Yes, on aureola. About 5 of them around the edge. It is my first pregnancy. I'm sure it's fine but I'll check with dr. I'm a fairly 'moley' person anyway but these seemed to appear quite suddenly.
Thanks

Me too, but I don't thing they are moles, they have come and go.

Hi there,
Like PacificDogWood suggested, it's mosty likely that they are Montgomery's Tubercles which are raised areas around the nipples that appear during pregnancy.

Alongside other reasons, it's thought that they help lubricate the breasts during breastfeeding thereby preventing your breasts from getting sore so long as the baby is positioned correctly

If you are worried about them, ask your midwife or GP to have a look at them...

Good luck!

Thanks all, was at hospital today for appointment so mentioned it. Dr says it's completely normal, yet another symptom with the 'hormones' label!!
