Bump Nicknames!

Does anyone else have silly, cute, mad etc. nicknames for their bumps? We call out little one Paddy because I discovered I was pregnant at 5 weeks and then we read that at thet stage babies are only the size of a grain of rice - hence Paddy (Paddyfield = rice. Yes, we are a bit mad!)
Anyway, it's really stuck and we know we are having a little boy so considering naming him Patrick when he is born! . Would love to hear all your nicknames.

Ours is 'bumplestiltskin' - cos we don't know what the sex is, so we can't guess what its name is going to be when it's born (but it will either be Benjamin Rhys or Imogen Laign, depending)

My dd was Strog - my husband is a bit of a dinosaur so his nickname is Steggy, and she was Steggy's Sprog, which was contracted down to Strog.

It all made sense once ...

Nemo1977 · 08/07/2005 14:47

this bump is called nemo and ds was called spud

Kiwifruit · 08/07/2005 14:48

Champ - not sure why, it's DH's pet name for just about anyone (me, the cat...now the bump!).

Miaou · 08/07/2005 14:52

Paddysmum, my dds nicknamed my bump along the same lines as you did yours - ie first it was thumbelina, then applelina, orangina, melonina (are you seeing a pattern here? ) - it has now in its final stages reverted to "the baby" though!

sweetkitty · 08/07/2005 14:54

this ones peanut

DD was appleseed (ie the size of them when we found out)

Redhelen · 08/07/2005 15:15

I call my monster! I should think of a better one really shouldn't I!!!It's always been really active and kicks my ribs!

Kelly1978 · 08/07/2005 15:55

muttar and paneer. due to babies being given silly food names, we settled on paneer. (dp is indian). When we found out they were twins - muttar paneer!! (cheese and peas)

tarantula · 08/07/2005 15:59

Matilda Jane cos my mum calls all of us Matilda (Matilda Jane if shes being really specific) when she cant remember who she is talking about/to so we decided to call bump Matilda too.

PandaBear · 08/07/2005 16:00

Mine were Button and Beanie

ChaCha · 08/07/2005 16:19

Another peanut here. Although this is one and not twins it sometimes gets called 'peanuts'. Not quite sure why?!?

MrsDoolittle · 08/07/2005 16:20

Mine is Sproglett! She still is now at 15 months!!

tex111 · 08/07/2005 16:23

DS was called Pickle but I can't remember why. Think DH came up with it and it stuck. This bump (a girl) is called Cupcake. The first thing I bought after finding out we were having a girl was a tiny pink T-shirt that says 'Mommy's Little Cupcake' and it stuck.

Tabs · 08/07/2005 16:24

Mine is Chip. Last one was Pebble. Both plays on our surname, but no prizes on offer for working out what that is!

colinsmommy · 08/07/2005 16:25

Called DS Bucky (in honor of a cartoon charachter here in U. S.) and am calling this one Spud the Peanut because I had a scan at 6 weeks, and that's what it looked like to me. Didn't know the sex of either one.

Janh · 08/07/2005 16:26

3 of ours were called Elliott, Adrian and Chester - have forgotten the 4th.

munz · 08/07/2005 16:58

ours is beanie.

Twiga · 08/07/2005 17:22

Started off refering to the baby as "the prawn" because they were so small and a bit blobby at our early scan. Have now progressed to "puddle duck" because feels like baby is constantly swimming/splashing about - been very active from 16 wks.

bonkerz · 08/07/2005 17:44

mines called fred! It was ds and dsd choice and they are both avid scooby doo fans!!

ych · 08/07/2005 18:02

Mine is called little squidger. Just because I call anything that's small and cute squidgy!

MrsDoolittle · 08/07/2005 18:28

What about Spudulicka?

triceratops · 08/07/2005 22:00

Ds named ours Flash he was Herb when he was a bean.

Busyalexsmummy · 08/07/2005 22:06

when pregnant with ds we had lots of early scans due to recurrent m/c's and at the 8 week scan it looked like casper the friendly ghost inside an obergine(sp?) so casper...

this time have not got a name, purely because im so busy rushing around after ds that I havent had time to really think about(sometimes i even forget im pregnant!)

dramaqueen72 · 08/07/2005 22:11

mine is belly bean

dramaqueen72 · 08/07/2005 22:12
