Hiya,

We are currently TTC baby Number 2. We had a missed conception in December we think (light bleed, pregnancy test said negative afterwards, was a positive before) am now late (only by like 24 hours) but no signs yet. Did a test yesterday afternoon and this morning both saying no, cheap tesco test though. Felt a bit disheartened after spending £20 on tests for them to be negative.

Is there any way that the tests might just not be picking up the hormones yet or am I just late for the first time ever?

Thanks

S

It is possibly that the tests haven't picked up hormones yet. Not sure how sensitive the Tesco tests are? (In terms of the lowest level of hCG they will detect)

When I got my positive result there was a marked difference in how sensitive the 2 tests were - I used Superdrug own brand and First response. For me the superdrug test was far more sensitive than the FR one and showed a much stronger line.

Good luck!

I didn't get positive until 2 days late (ie -ve on day period was due) and month before that period was a couple of days late but not pregnant... (I think this annoyingly is normalish if TTC, ie chemical pregnancy that its not picked up by the test you use) so you'll just have to wait and see.

Only advice is only test FMU and once you use one test don't use the other for 2 more days... also can buy cheap tests on internet...
