very dry mouth at night

I just wondered if anyone else was having/have had the same thing. I only drink water during the day, but at night i wake up, what feels like every hour, with the driest mouth ever - my lips are stuck to my gums, tongue to the roof of my mouth. I keep a glass of water next to the bed and take regular sips. This has only happened since becoming pg and drinking through the night doesn't help with the frequent trips to the toilet.

Is it just me..?

I had this when pregnant too, nothing helped, only water!

novadandypowder - I am the same - Mine is caused by snoring and sleeping with my mouth open. Like you I wake pretty much every hour - I also have a very blocked nose. My Doctor says both the snoring and blocked nose are caused by the estrogone & progestorone of preganacy and will go once the baby is born. It's no fun getting such broken sleep though - I'm 31 weeks now - how far have you got to go? Take care

Hi novadandypowder I had simlar symptons when I have been pregnant with all four of my children and could not go to bed without a pint of juice or water next to my bed and was up and down to the loo....but when I had given birth I am rarely up for the loo in the night and still through force of habit take a drink to bed but it is rarely drunk during the night and still sitting full in the morning

I had more snot than usual when pg which meant my nose was blocked so I breathed through my mouth, particularly at night. I also had a dry mouth.

A possible explanation rather than a solution I'm afraid.

Thanks - my sinuses have also been playing up since i got pg, so maybe thats the cause. I can't sleep without putting some olbas oil down, and sneeze a lot more often. I look forward to the day when it all returns to normal x
