Hot baths

Haven't had a bath for absolutely ages now for some reason. I usually love them, especially in the winter, love a good hot soak with a book, but I think that since having DD baths have felt like a bit of a waste of time.

I'm not even 6 weeks pg yet and am starting to feel a bit ropey and am craving a long hot soak. Would you do it? Are hot baths more dangerous earlier or later? Are they really that much of a problem?

Just make sure it is not scalding and you should be fine. I have had reasonably hot baths throughout my pregnancy (prob once or twice a week) and all seems to be fine (am 34 wks now).

Sounds like you deserve it and need the time to yourself!!

I have continued to have hot baths and am now 20+5 and so far so good... I did try to give them up, but I am addicted. I have a hot bath every night, it's a ritual and I can't stop.

I read somewhere that hot water in a bath cools too quickly for it to raise your base temperature (or something), unlike a jacuzzi or steam room/sauna where the temperature is kept at a consistently high reading. So probably is fine. I would go for it.

Hot baths are the only pleasure I have left! I have one most days im 32 weeks and did the same in first pregnancy with no problems. My bump sticks out anyway haha!

Thanks for this, I was wondering the same thing! I have been keeping my bath just slightly more on the tepid side than I usually like, cause I was worried about overheating... but then again feeling cold and shivery can't be good for the LO either!

My bath was so hot the other night that I had a red tide mark where the water had touched
I'm sure that's not good, but too late to worry about it now. It felt wonderful!

I'm still on the baths too though not quite as hot as usual. I'm 30+2. I have stopped with the bubbles in the spa bath though as I was worried I might deafen the sproglet
