When did you start getting period pains BEFORE labour started?

Hi,
I'm asking this as I just can't remember from being pregnant with DS1.....

I'm 37 weeks and have been having very mild period type pains for a week now - so mild I don't need paracetamal (lower back and front). They are getting a bit more frequent, say every other hour or so.

Did everyone get these way before labour or soon before labour? DS1 was 10 days late so I've always assumed this one will be late (although hoping not!)

I'm 35 weeks with DD2 and have been getting the same thing. usually happens to me when I get into bed at night.......period pains on and off for half an hour or so. I get braxton hicks too but those don't hurt and are just a bit uncomfortable. I seem to be getting lots more twinges etc this time round so I guess it's more common with 2nd pregnancies. As for being early it's hard to say........DD1 was born at 37 weeks so I've kind of got fixated on the same thing happening this time! Every pregnancy is different though so it doesn't necessarily follow!

Thanks Heth, I'm with you with the more BH's and niggles 2nd time round, particularly pelvic pain.... It takes me 5 mins to stand up these days!!
