Tight waistbands...

Afternoon ladies,

Bit of a silly one this - have a new pair of maternity jeans on today and although they have an elasticated waistband and are the rght size for the rest of me, the waistband (under bump style) is really tight. Bub has been fidgiting loads today and I'm wondering if the 2 are related. I don't think the waistband is restricting his space as it's very low (over my pelvis basically), but d'you reckon he's squeezed in there and protesting? I'm 32+5...

I've got a couple of pairs low rise maternity trousers like that and have wondered the same. I think the tight waistband just means I feel the movement more and added to that of course, am more conscious of it.

God there's no and of things to worry about isn't there.

no end of things

I've been worrying about this too - to the point where I pull my trousers down as far as possible whule driving. Better hope I don't get pulled over

I found as my bump grew bigger I couldn't tolerate the under bump styles and switched to the very stretchy over bump styles to accommodate me! Pity as I liked my jeans

Tell me about it! I don't think I'll wear them again, just in case.. (yet another garment consigned to the 'no longer an option' drawer!)x

I've given up on jeans now, (30 weeks with twins). Just find that they do dig in right above the hip bones after a few hours even if they fit everywhere else. Sticking to yoga pants and dresses for the last few weeks I think. One of my pregnancy books did say that by the end dresses are a lot more comfy. Not ideal for dog walking though...

Ive given up on my jeans now too - they get to a point where they are just too uncomfortable, especially when sitting down. Ive got a few pairs of maternity jogging bottoms from new look @ £12 each - they are so comfy I might go back & get some more in different colours

forgot to say im 32 weeks now too so at same stage as you!

Leggings are the solution! They can be dress up or down depending on the occasions.
Mine are not even maternity one but I bought them a size bigger than my normal size.
I'm now 38 weeks and for some of them, I need to wear them with a jersey belly belt but they are soo comfy!

I too had the same problems with jeans because I think the belt/button was pressing on LO head when seated.

I am currently coming up on 32w and have a pair of work trousers which do this too. Bump goes beserk if i wear them and they are soooooo uncomfortable around the waistband i am loath too. I have pretty much given up on under the bump stuff and live in a pair of over the bump heavely yoga pants a freind lent me. Generally dresses for work though.

Mamas and papas have some nice looking over the bump trousers for £25. THey are jersey so wont squish you or bump.

Baby kicks like crazy if anything restricts my tummy, he goes absolutely mental.

I had to tuck him "under" a table the other day, the only one available was a bench seat and there just wasn't enough space for both of us! He wasn't too impressed with that either let me tell you, but went quiet when the hamburger and chocolate milkshake arrived .
