I am 34 weeks today and feel like my belly button is going to explode out of my belly (really painful and tender all around that area), plus have totally lost my appetite for food and seem to be getting loads of varicose veins in legs - despite trying to remain reasonably active and do stretches etc etc to promote circulation.

Did not have any of this in last pregnancy (DD is now 14 months and a livewire so rushing around after her a lot). Hoping it is all normal and was just lucky last time!

In my second pregnancy my belly button at about the same time, did exactly the same, couldn't even brush things across it, it hurt so much. I also realised my first child had a habit of trying to climb into my arms by kneeling into it a little and that made it worse. I had to keep applying cream to tummy to help.

My second pregnancy also brought varicose veins too

But he was a big baby when born - 9lbs and 8 oz.

I think there is something you can use to help prevent varicose veins but for the life of me, I cannot remember what it is. Hopefully some other mumsnetter will be along soon x
