Am I in an uncomfortable phase or will this last or the next 12 weeks?

Hi all - I am 28 weeks pregnant, and for the last week or two have just been so uncomfortable - unable to bend anymore, feel like theres just no room left in me - if that makes sense - and getting loads of movements that really make me jump and sometimes cry out with how painful they are!Everything feels tight - if I yawn or take a deep breath its very painful,
My bump isn't really very big, feels more like its taking up space upwards rather than outwards as such, is this just a phase that will pass, as my bump grows outwards? or am I just going to feel like this for the remainder? work is getting to be a nightmare, very active job teaching, and I still have 8 weeks left there - think it is going to drive me mad! I know other things I have felt seem to go through phases, so just wondering if there is any hope?!?

Hmmm, I remember feeling the same way and now I am at 38+5 I feel a whole lot worse and look back fondly to 28 weeks.

No seriously it's a hard time because you enter the third trimester and suddenly feel tired and overwhelmed by it all but the actual birth is still a long way away. The general well-being of the second trimester suddenly disappears. With your first baby you should experience lightening - when it drops down into your pelvis in a few weeks (maybe not for a while though) and that will ease the pressure on your diaphragm.

If you are experiencing pain though do see your midwife, if only to set your mind at rest.

Good luck!

Thanks - as Ithought then, hopeless! The pain is normal I think, just everything stretching, and probably overdoing it a bit...seeing midwife tomorrow so will certainly ask, thanks - I guess it is the baby moving up higher than before, as thats where I am feeling all the movement. god this growing a baby is hard bloody work!

Oh, I'm really sorry. 28 weeks is nothing compared to the rest of it! I went camping and was still riding my horse at 28 weeks. My biggest worry at the time was just starting to struggle to get my boots on.

By 38 weeks I was ready to do anything to get the baby out (although I had another 3 weeks to go!) There was some relief as she dropped into the pelvis and took the pressure off my lungs and ribs.

I'm not saying this with the joy of someone who has finished their child-bearing years, either. I have more of this to come very soon!

Thanks - I actually feel a bit better, been swimming loads and doing yoga, so maybe the baby has moved or something! but yes, I think it all is just the fact that it all seems to be changing so quickly now, but at the same time the birth seems like an age away...

More likely to get worse as baby gets bigger esp towards the end when it can feel they are sitting on your bladder! I am also 28 weeks... wtih my 3rd... for me 2nd trimester always the best one... no nausea and don't feel huge!

I am now getting pains low down in bump when I walk or exercise... very annoying.

Me too MumNW. I thought it was just me but pleased to know I'm not the only one. This is DC3 for me too.

Yep, I had those pains acouple of days ago too. I do just think it seems to change everyday, how I feel, felt brilliant from about 11 weeks until now, a couple of weeks of feeling horrible and now ok again - except now have a horrible cough which is making everything hurt! Aaargh!

Thanks for all the replies, although probably not, as general feeling seems to be....going to get worse! Joy...at least its getting closer t baby actually being here I suppose, could think of it that way!
