What should a 10wk scan look like? reassurance needed please

Hi there,

I've recently had a dating scan and it showed I was 10wks and 5days. There was a heartbeat and I asked the sonographer if everything looked normal and she said yes. I'm a bit worried because there wasn't any visible arms or legs. The lady said something like 'this is where the arms and legs will start developing' and she might have used the word 'buds' but from what I've read and pictures I've seen, I thought the arms and legs should have developed by 10wks 5 days. I'm sure I'm worrying about nothing but I'm worrying myself sick about it. Has anyone had a similar 10wk scan? Desperately need some reassurance.

i had one at 9 weeks, looked like a peanut. it sounds like they thought it was all fine, so i really wouldn't worry

I had one at 10 wks and then another at 12. The difference was unbelievable! At 10 wks I could hardly make out arms or legs just a pear shaped body. In another 2 weeks all the major body parts had formed. It's normal, so dont worry. xx

This one looked like a legless teddy bear at 9+!

There is a huge difference between a 10 and 12 week scan.
I had a 10 week and was told that it is very likely that arms and legs would nit be clearly visible yet as it was buds or something like that and that the arms and legs by 12 weeks will be formed and bendy at elbow/knee.

If they had any concerns at all they would have said something.

I had a scan at 8+2 and the baby looked like a cashew nut. I am currently playing Golden Balls with the nutty boy.

I feel much more reassured, thanks so much. I always thought that once I had got the positive pregnancy test it would be just a lovely happy 9 months.

I never thought it would create so much worry!

I'm sure my 20 wk scan will give me something else to lose sleep over

I had a 10 week scan on Wednesday and I could only see arms because the baby was waving them above his head

They obviously do scans all the time so if they're not worried, I wouldn't be either.

I had mine at 9+6 and was able to see waving arms and kicking legs.
