i can't see it doing any harm at all! go for it!

RedZuleika · 06/07/2005 19:21

Doesn't Deep Heat work on muscles...? And if it's similar pain to that which I experienced (see your other posting this morning), it isn't muscular in origin.

starlover · 06/07/2005 19:22

if you don't want to use it then try a hot water bottle?

If its a leg pain that starts in your hip and works its way down, you have a horrible trapped nerve, courtesy of your pelvis moving...and it will continue until you have your baby (or at least that's what happened to me....) get on all fours and circle your leg until the pain subsides, was the remedy....
As per mosschops paracetamol unless GP ok's anything else, if in major pain ring midwife and she'll pop out and see you/recommend course of action, hope it gets better soon hon, hugs....

penetrate the skin and do what? seriously,.. it's not gonna do any harm,

starlover · 06/07/2005 19:42

Methyl Salicylate 12,80 g; Terpentine Oil 1,47 g; Eucalyptus Oil 1,97 g; Menthol 5,91 g

those are the ingredients of it. all harmless.. and yes, it is safe during pg!

It doesn't have to continue until the birth. Mine was sorted by an osteopath.

I don't think you can assume that just because an oil is penetrating only the skin that it's not going to have any effect. Lavender oil, for instance, is contraindicated in pregnancy because of a risk of miscarriage. I think this mainly applies to early pregnancy, particularly if you have a history of miscarriage.

I'm not saying that I know of anything wrong with Deep Heat though.

at the end of the day hun the choice is ur's we all have our own opinions and everybody makes there own decision. I really hope u get it sorted out. Im not saying that it is or isnt safe im just saying i wouldnt have used it while i was pg. x
