Just heard babies heartbeat for the first time on my doppler. (due 1st aug) WOW!

I'm going to be really boring and sound a word of caution though - I work for a company who make dopplers and please, please don't use it as a reassurance tool if you're worried about the baby not kicking/something feeling odd etc. It's so easy for women to pick up a pulse through the placenta (or your own) and think everything's fine, put off calling their midwife and then find out that something has gone seriously wrong Unless you have been specially trained to use it, a home-use doppler is just for fun.
