Anyone out there got one?
I am soo pleased and delighted at 9 weeks a lovely heartbeat to allay my worries and stop some of those mad dash to the loo to check- moments. So wish I had dont this with other pregnancies... any one in agreement!

right, got the doppler but struggling to identify the right sounds...

I get the loud wooshing (comes and goes in waves?) then a clear heartbeat but I think it might be my own!!! AAArgh!

I'm so impatient...help! I am right on the pubis, loads of gel, full bladder...

Teuch i dont know if this is good advice but my dh ( he is a vet) said empty your bladder when i could not find h/b he said it could be in the way and dopller only has shallow penetration. Dopplermike said its easier to find h/b earlier on a thinner woman for the same reason. Keep trying but dont get stressed!

Hi, is anyone still on this thread? I am 15 weeks and just hired a doppler and I can't find a heartbeat for love nor money! I am not a slim girlie by any means but I thought I should still be able to find a heartbeat by now?? Any help you can give?

Hi Tictac...

Firstly, start about halfway between belly button and pubic bone. Plenty of gel on the doppler, and point as if you were trying to shine a torch out your bum!

Then...move the angle of the doppler (not moving the position at all at first) as if you are shining said torch around your insides REALLY SLOWLY!!! Listen for the placenta whoosh and concentrate around that area.

If no joy, then move to a different position (I usually go about 3-4 fingers width to the left or right) and repeat, starting with the angle towards your bum.

Good Luck!!
