Is this wind or early labour?

Sorry if this sounds a daft question but I'm 35 weeks (baby currently approx 7lb) and for the last 18 hours I've been experiencing strong wind type pains in my lower abdomen, accompanied by regular tight tummy feelings. Feel as though I constantly need a poo! Does this just sound like braxton hicks / pre-labour symptoms or did your labour start like this?

Might be worth phoning a midwife or assessment unit for advice... Could be Braxton Hicks - I found them more painful than actual contractions!
Good luck

That does sound similar to how I would describe barxton hicks, but maybe the fact you've had them for 18 hours you could phone the maternity unit just to check... I would suggest though if they haven't got any worse/stronger in all that time then it isn't labour though so please don't panic.

When my contractions started with DS I knew that's what they were, felt very different to the BH.

Good luck!
