iv bought a doppler for use at home and the two times i have used it i ave failed to find baby's heartbeat. i have found my own, and have heard bubs mving round but not heartbeat but tbh i dont have a clue where to look!!
i have seen heartbeat on 12 week scan so not really worried, just frustrating that i cant find it..i am now 13 weeks.
i bought the doppler as i am a real worrier and have previously mc so waiting for the midwives appointments is torturing me...but now this is torturing me too!!

any help or advice on where to look would be much appreciated!!

To be honest, my midwife said she wouldn't even bother trying to pick up a heartbeat at 16 weeks (I asked at an AN appt) as they can be so hard to find, even for someone with experience, before about 20 weeks.

I found DD2's at 14 weeks. Lying down and pressing quite hard just above my pubic bone in the middle and at that level to the left and right. Used to take a good five or ten minutes. Sometimes just holding it in one place for a bit and waiting used to work. Good luck!tr

My GP found my baby's HB for the first time at 13weeks but very low down, had to roll my jeans downa good few inches. If I remember correctly it was on the right, but just generally feel around low down and listen out for galloping horses! Good luck!

i found my first DDs heartbeat at 13 weeks, had to have the doppler really low down to hear it and it took ages (you'll have to be patient!), i just very slowly moved the doppler from one side to the other. Make sure you have ultra sound gel or aloe vera works well too (and softens the skin! lol). Im PG again and heard this HB at 10 weeks as I knew where to look this time! it takes a bit of practice.

I found my babys heartbeat at 9+3 just on the brim of my pubic bone with an Anglelsounds doppler. Since then I've found it every couple of days and now at 13 weeks today it's about 1-2 ins above my pubic bone in the centre. You do have to press quite hard and angle it slightly in order to find it. I have found that the baby moves around quite a bit so the heartbeat can be found either side of where I described, or down towards the pubic bone. You also do need the gel. Good luck x
