Hi.

Am 10 wks and yesterday suddenly started feeling really worried, I have a really bad feeling and so have booked a scan privately for later today to make myself feel better.

Just sharing really, hopefully i'll be back on later feeling like a bit of a loon.

Yep, I had a private viability scan at 9 weeks.

I had an early MC last year, so was paranoid over whether or not this one was going to work out. Seems to be doing ok, I'm 14 weeks now. I also wanted to know whether things were looking good or bad so I could let my immediate family know over Christmas.

So you're not the only one wanting an early scan due to paranoia, at least. I hope the scan goes well!

IME the private scan was so much better than the NHS scan anyway, I'm so glad I had it. The pictures were much clearer and the sonographer took the time to explain everything carefully. For the NHS scan I was treated like they'd have preferred to have done the scan without me being there (as if such a thing was possible!) and the screen was turned away from me after the first ten seconds so I couldn't see a thing.

Thanks spireal I know I'm probably worried about nothing and will feel very silly and then worry about the waste of money. I have had mmc previously and just so worried about finding out at 12 wks scan that it's all over. >

I've had a private scan in each of my pregnancies, for different reasons each time I wasn't able to have an NHS scan at 12 weeks.

Not sure where you are, but I went here and they were excellent, would really recommend them.

Sorry, I read your post but didn't take in that you had already booked yours!
[Makes mental note to stop trying to parent and mumsnet and same time!]

Hi Lia I didn't have a private scan but I did have an early one at my EPU, I was 6wks at the time.

Definitely set my mind at ease - mine was because I m/c in September, and I was getting tummy pains. All was fine - and we're both having babies in August

Let us know how your scan goes honey xx

Yes had one at 8 weeks.

DH and I ttc for two years and couldn't quite believe it was real. Just wanted to hear heartbeat and know all was ok. It was so emotional I cried before, during and after (these were tears of joy and relief). Then felt comfortable to tell parents and a couple of close friends. Really glad we did it.

Hope it goes well xx
