Start of pregnancy with morning sickness I lost about 9lbs. Took me until about 20 weeks to get back to starting weight (I had "reserves" they weren't worried) then I had reasonable weight gain until recently but weight gain from start weight is only a stone (although over a stone if you include the 9lbs I lost and regained). I actually look thinnert han I ever have (except for bump) I have cheekbones and thin arms and legs! I am below average for weight gain in pregnancy but as bump measures fine for dates the midwife the other week wasn't too worried. But now am 38 weeks the weight is coming off again. I was 13stone 3 at the start of the week and now 12stone 12 so that's 5lbs in under a week. How come it isn't that easy when you are actively trying to lose weight! I am eating fairly normally and I do wake up hungry in night sometimes so I just don't get how I am losing weight at the stage in my pregnancy when bub is laying down fat! At this rate I will be lighter post birth than prebirth! (that bit's good am just a bit worried about the now!)
this happen to anyone else?

My third pregnancy was like this, thandeka, don't worry.

The baby will be getting everything he/she needs. And you need to eat little and often as your stomach will be crunched into oblivion right now. Keep a bar of Green and Blacks in your handbag and eat when you feel hungry. Hope this helps.

Thandeka, I have always said that pregnancy is the best diet i have ever been on!

Both times i have been thinner after the birth than before conception. For me its the healthier diet, no wine, and the fact that my stomach was seriously reduced by the size of my bump, so it took less food to fill me up. Plus I had severe heartburn.

As long as the baby is growing, think of it as a blessing!

I think for me it must be the lack of wine as I have seriously craved chocolate and sweet things and haven't held back I just must be burning a lot in baby making! Thanks for the reassurance guys.
