I am 24 weeks pregnant and i am having terrible back pain in my lower back it's not really cramps but it's like a ache in the middle of my back and then it moves to the sides of my pelvis, should I be worried. I have been quite stressed at work and there is stairs that i have to climb as well could that be it?

It could be related to stretching in your pelvic ligaments, Ricci2. I've had SPD in previous pregnancies (this is my 4th) and I have had quite crippling pain at the front of my pelvis. This time, however, all the pain is in my lower back and sides of pelvis, as you describe, worsening when I transfer weight foot to foot.

You can ask you GP to refer you to the physio - there is often one who specialises in the pregnant ladies - who can advise on best practice. In the meantime, get out of the car with your knees together, roll over in bed with your knees together - try to keep your knees together, basically! Hope this helps.
