Hello fellow May Mummys.

Theres a group of us due in May on this antenatal thread

Come and join us. We are a friendly bunch I promise!!

morethemerrier · 20/01/2010 19:11

Ok, but have been strggling with SPD since about 11 weeks!

Got another scan in the morning as they picked up a small cyst on the babies brain, which apparently is quite common, but due to my age (34)it can a marker for chromosomal issues? Maybe other MN's have exp of this?

Nothing else was identified so hoping that it will have gone when they scan tommorow!

Had low risk blood results back (for downs)so really just trying to focus on what they didn't find as opposed to what they did iyswim!

Will this be your first section? x

jen6jen · 20/01/2010 19:17

unfortunatley its my fourth cs. its quite scary as the docs have said the risks r high and i have 2 b sterilised afterwards. i too have spd..have just been signed off work 4 a month and i go back 4 a wk and then start maternity leave!! i declined the downs tests this time as the mw said they r only 60 per cent accurate anyway and at 36 i didnt want the xtra worry. im certain ur scan will show good news but pls let me kno. xxx

hi pigleychez!! thank u 4 the invitation will definately check it out. xxx

morethemerrier · 20/01/2010 19:40

Can only imagine how scary the prospect of another CS must be,you are brave to be going through that for the forth time!

I wasn't going to have the test, never bothered with the other two but it was more of a compromise as they suggetsted an amnio which I def wanted to avoid!

SPD is a nightmare isn't it, there are a few good threads on here with some good tips may be worth a peek, if u have'nt checked them out already!

Can your doctor not sign you off for that extra week? At least then you can relax and rest? x

morethemerrier · 20/01/2010 19:40

Well, as much as you can with three other DC!

jen6jen · 20/01/2010 19:51

i might end up asking him but im gonna miss the girls at work so i might try 2 get in so i can say bye. i had the spd with my last 2 children so hes referring me 4 physio and he also suggested accupuncture which i dnt really fancy. ha. have been thru enuf i think.

i didnt want anymore children after my 3 and 4 miscarriages but after a divorce 8 yrs ago i met a lovely man who was more than willing 2 bring my little ones up as his own...but he had none!!! his eyes lit up everytime he saw a baby and still he swore he would be fine without 1. i couldnt do tht 2 him so i agreed 2 do it 1 more time. sometimes at the min i ask myself y!!! ha. but im sure its all gonna be worth it. xxx

hey ladies im due 09 of may and cant wait i also have spd only found out a couple of days ago that the pains were spd!! quite painful so my sympathy is with all ladies with it. hope all ur pregnancies are goin well

mustbemadno3 · 20/01/2010 21:06

hi jen6jen and other may mummys. Im 36 too and my children are 12 and 8, so big gap like you. Sounds like you are with a nice man and I am sure it will work out ok. 1 more prob wont make much difference!!!
I'm worn out this time round feeling much more knackered not sure if its my age!!
Theres also a thread called starting our journeys together May 2010. I thought about the joining the ante natal thread but it seemed well establish and I feel like Im gate crashing!!!

rachelfruitloop · 20/01/2010 21:39

Hi Ladies, my DS2 is due 16 May! I also just joined the May ante natal thread the other day even though I feared I was gate crashing, but they have welcomed me warmly. There are a couple of others who have also joined in the last few days, so don't be shy! It's great to compare with lots of other women at the same stages of pregnancy! Glad I've not had spd, it sounds terribly painful!

katnkittens · 21/01/2010 00:16

I'm also due my 4th DC on 12th May. I have DS 13 and DDs 11 and 6. This will be DD3

I've had a great pregnancy so far I have to admit. Lots of worry (due to previous mcs) but baby girl seems fine and is kicking away in there quite happily!

My friend just delivered her baby boy at 36 weeks, she suffered really badly from SPD so I have seen how bad it can get, it looked so painful. I'm hoping everything stays well for me!

I'm moving house on Friday so everything is mental here, I can't wait to get in and decorate though, especially the baby's room!

first1 · 21/01/2010 08:49

Hi Ladies!

My first baby (a girl) is due 17th May. Soo excited but wish time would move faster, 40 weeks is a bloody long time!

I've had a relatively stress free time so far, though my asthma has been really exacerbated by the pregnancy so going to ask my GP to refer me to the consultant ob.

Also waiting to hear if the offer on a house has been accepted. A stress I really could not be doing with!

morethemerrier · 21/01/2010 13:59

Hi everyone!Nice to see more May Mummy's today!

First1 and KatnKittens, how exciting (although stressful!) new babies and new homes!

Rachel I had a quick peek last night at the May thread, its huge lol!

Mustbemad,do you know what your having?

Also, how's everyone getting on choosing names? We are struggling lol!

Oh, had another scan this morning and pleased to say that the CPC (choroid Plexus cyst) has gone! So no further tests needed!

OH is convince he saw meat and two veg as well, and considering we had both decided we wanted a surprise I told him he should have looked away when she was scaning that area as I have got it in my head now its another boy!

She pointed out that the palcenta is at the front as well, but it should not stop a normal delivery? I am aiming for a home birth has anyone had any exp of Anterior placenta, can it be a problem?

Jen sorry to hear about your losses you sound as though you have met your soulmate!

Sorry if I have missed anyone will check back in later x

jen6jen · 21/01/2010 15:12

i have an anterior placenta but im a section anyway so it wouldnt make a difference. i didnt feel baby move til abt 19 or 20 wks and the mw said tht was the reason. was scary tho cos its meant 2 b earlier the more children u have!!!!

its lovely 2 hear frm so many ladies due in may. we all seem 2 have so much in common!!! and its nice 2 compare experiences. thanks morethemerrier and im really glad ur scan went well.

must be mad i agree it does get more tiring with age.

katnkittens good luck with the move...rather u than me..and first1 congratulations!! trust me itll fly by...

hope 2 hear frm u all soon. is it poss 2 have some first names tho???some of these nicknames r very long!!! haha. xxx

I'm due 12 may with no 4

first1 · 21/01/2010 15:54

morethemerrier Delighted the scan went well :D I have an anterior placenta and providing it's relatively high it shouldnt be a problem. This should be in your notes somewhere?

We've narrowed down to 4 names - Chloe, Ella, Grace and Lilly...opinions would be most welcome! What has everyone else decided on?

jen6jen I agree on the long screen names. I'm Lucy by the way!

xx

sweetkitty · 21/01/2010 16:02

hello I'm also due in May and also due no4 who is a boy after 3 girls.

Also have SPD and it's rubbish I agree.

Come and join us on the Due in May thread we are a friendly if talkative bunch honest

morethemerrier · 21/01/2010 16:56

Thanks Jen, she did say it was well out of the way of the cervix, and thinking about it I did start to feel kicks a lot later this time!
Lucy,(thats on my girl list as well!) those names are really pretty! I have a niece called Gracie! And Lily (middle name Honey) is on my list for a girl, but for a boy we like Edward, we already have an Alexander(nn Xander) and William (nn Will)so sticking with a regal theme I suppose!
Hi Sheep, do you know what no4 is yet or are u having a surprise?
Congrats Sweet on your boy, and for the SPD!
I tried keeping up by lurking on the other thread, but it moves too fast for me lol! my name's carol by the way x

sheepgomeep · 21/01/2010 22:49

hello again, I wanted to find out what sex the baby is this time but the baby had its legs firmly shut so I will have to wait till the end now!

katnkittens · 22/01/2010 07:16

I have a 6 year old Lily she's lovely and everyone loves her name.
This one will be Ava Rose. We decided for definite a few weeks ago, it's such a relief to have chosen as nothing seemed to stand out this time.
Moving house today yey! I'll probably not be on for a while as it's gonna take a little while to set up internet in the new house.

first1 · 22/01/2010 13:45

katnkittens - good luck with the move! Ava Rose is a beautiful name.

Last night DH and I have finally settled on baby's name. Chloe Grace I love it!

sheepgomeep - You'll have a great surprise in May!

morethemerrier - Edward is a great name, goes so well with your other two.

I attempted the antenatal thread too but I can't keep up! Where does everyone live? I'm near Kingston, Surrey. Just wondering if anyone is local!

Lucy x

mustbemadno3 · 22/01/2010 16:33

morethemerrier yes I know what Im having if they havent got it wrong!! and its a girl which will be lovely after two boys. So poor daughter will have a hard time with 2 big brothers and a jealous Italian father!! lol!
I have an anterior placenta but they said its very low so will need a section if theres no change. Having another scan in March to determine that one! Still not feeling much movement and the baby feels very low down. Trying not to worry, but got m/w appointment next week so hopefully she will put my mind at rest? Also having 3d scan in Feb.

We have chosen Sofia, Neeve, Martha. But we are Italian and both boys have Italian names so probably be Sofia. Plus I cant spell Neeve!!
We are going to do a name a week and see which one suits her!! haha!
jen6jen my name is Rachel, but wonder how many other Rachel's there are on here!!! Already seen one Rachel on this thread!

jen6jen · 22/01/2010 18:31

OP posts:
first1 · 23/01/2010 16:59

mustbemadno3 I have a goddaughter called Sophia. Pretty name

*jen6jen& well "the Arbiter" is definitely original! Leon's a nice name, would you mind if people shortened it to Leo?

Got a manic couple of weeks coming up, trying to pack up the past 3years of our lives to move into the new house. I'm very excited, especially about decorating the nursery, but oh my word this house moving business I am not a fan of! Still, got my pregnancy yoga class tomorrow to de-stress!
