Hello,

Wondering if anyone can help. I have been having mild sinus problems for a few weeks which have felt like having sniffles along with bit of a hadache.

In last few days headaches have got really bad though and when lying in bed even having bdside lift on or just landing light on hurts my eyes. Pain is on top of head, forehead and behind eyes (actually hurts to move eyes). DH has given me face and head massages which help temp and I did take one paracetomol at 5.30am after an hour of sheer pain.

Any tips or advice? I don't like taking tablets even when not pregnant although I think a couple of paracetool here and there are ok.

In my pregnancy books this does appear to be one of the symptoms and I do seem to be getting all of them!!!!!!!

Me too, headaches were awful, worst ever, but they went after a couple of weeks, the blocked nose lasted weeks and weeks but only noticed last week that it has gone.

Get headaches checked out if they dont disappear with paracetamol or if you are at all worried.

Best of luck

Headaches can be a symptom of pregnancy. Nasal congestion can also be a symptom of pregnancy but proper sinusitis shouldn't be a pregnancy symptom and usually needs treated with more than a paracetemol IMHO!
If you bend forward (like for cleaning the toilet or to pick up something off the floor) and the pain intensifies then it is probably sinusitus.
I had a cold in November that went to my sinuses and I had a permanent headache and faceache. I was miserable and no amount of paracetemol was touching the pain. Like you I don't like to take many tablets but I was despairing. I couldn't sleep and was miserable.
I went to my GP who prescribed amoxicillin and within about 36 hours I started to notice an improvement.
Steaming your head over a bowl of hot water can help a bit (add essential oil or olbas oil or vicks if you like).
I rubbed vicks on my chest, used a saline nasal spray and used 'breathe right' strips on my nose and a lot of pillows to prop me up a bit more in bed. All of these things helped a bit but really it was the amoxicillin that shifted the sinus pain.
If it is not sinus pain and just a pregnancy headache then it is really important to keep well hydrated.
