Hello,
Does anyone know how long it takes for maternity allowance payments to start coming through after the application is made?

Mine got held up over Christmas. I can't remember exactly but think I put the forms in at the start of December asking for the first payment the Monday before Christmas. It was January before I got any money but they did back date it to start from the date I had requested. So a month max? Should be quicker now that everyone is back at work after the holidays and the chaos of the snow and ice has calmed down.
