Not sure if this should go in the Pregnancy or Childbirth thread, but anyway....
I'm almost 31 weeks pregnant with DC2. I had a planned C-section with DS1 due to an underlying health problem. No change this time round and so I'm fully of the mind that I'll have a c-section this time around. I've just got a date for my appointment to see a consultant to discuss having a C-section (having asked the midwife to refer me).
The appointment is not for 6 weeks and so I will be almost 37 weeks (36 and 5 days to be precise!). I'm aware that c-sections are normally scheduled for 38 or 39 weeks so this just seems a bit late in the day to be seeing the consultant for the first time to discuss (and hopefully get booked in). I just rang the hospital but they said that's the earliest appointment that they have.
Does anyone think is is a problem or is it normal to leave it so late? I'm not sure quite what I'm worried about (maybe that leaving it so late means that they won't be able to fit me in a week or so later for a c-section - but I guess they have to - they would if I was an emergency c-section), but just wanted to canvas any thoughts.
Thanks in advance.
