What is a good period of time to get pregnant after a section, my dd is 19 weeks, would there be more complications if I got pregnant now? I feel fine but my periods are very painful which they never were before, I recovered well after the section and had no complications!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

A good friend of mine was pregnant again (planned) 12 weeks after the worst kind of emergency caesar. She had a very successful vbac and has two lovely children almost exactly 12 months apart, which is what she wanted.

So if you want to go for it now, do. There are a lot of advantages to having children close together (I had my first three in three years).

I thought you were supposed to wait a year - due to the scarring.

I had a VBAC 6 years after and they still kept a close eye on my scarring from c section

I got told to wait for at least a year - would definitely not go for another that soon after a section. You could always speak to your midwife though if you want a professional's advice.

No medical knowledge but just wanted to say that Britney Spears had her two in under a year - both sections.

Don't know why I remembered that.

speak to GP.... they usually say not to get pregnant for a year.

After mine I was told not to have another birth within 2 years - so to not get pregnant until number 1 was 13/14 months. I have asked a consultant about this advice since and he said there are no fixed guidelines. As it happens there will be approx 2 years between mine as I am due in the next few days and DS is 2 this week.
I would ask your GP
