Oooh! It is dreadfully itchy.

I know it can be normal, but this is getting worse and more sensitive.

I am 20 wks btw.

Any suggestions?

Oh I remember this with DS! I've not had it this time round although I do have the itchiest tummy skin ever. I'd say try lansinoh ointment (I think that's how it's spelt). It helped after I had DS but I did scratch my nipple red raw whilst pregnant.

Bio oil is helping my tummy a little but I've never tried it on a nip.

Yes, the lanolin stuff? Might have to. It is keeping me up at night and it feels hot to the touch.

sudocrem, aftersun or pile cream will help with the itching.

heQet · 17/01/2010 19:33

Oh I hated that! I used to pinch them really hard and sort of rub/twist them between my fingers. Still never managed to get the itch, it was somehow deeper iyswim. Used to drive me crazy!

nickytwotimes · 17/01/2010 19:33

NOw, I have sudocrem in the house.

Will wait till ds asleep then sneak in to get it.

It's alwyas the bloody same one.

Yes. I know exactly what you are feeling. I wish I had an answer for you, but nothing worked! I just kept twisting away, in the hope I might get it, but it was further inside than the twisting could help with. I twisted, I pinched, I pulled, but I could never get it.

Oh, it just drove me crackers!!!

I will admit something (I should name change for such a revelation but nevermind). I used to suck and bite at my nipple if it got unbearable. Kind of like an animal If it's hot, maybe put something cold like cold flannel or melting ice on it?

nickytwotimes · 17/01/2010 19:42

Dh has suggested ice.

I TOTALLY understand the biting thing. Alas I am too petite in the boob dept!

Right. Am off for my bath then I will Sudocrem myself and get some ice.

Thank you for the suggestions and empathy everyone.

I was also going to suggest that your OH bit it.

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 17/01/2010 19:45

gah, now I have itchy nipples!!

wtf?

TishTosh21 · 17/01/2010 21:45

god I had this from about 9/10 weeks,im now 14 weeks, its on and off though, one day it will be dry and flaky from where ive been scratching and the next it'llbe fine.

DP moisturised some E45 into them, which he thoroughly enjoyed

annamama · 18/01/2010 12:17

Try to wear a bra which is as thin as possible, not a padded one. And when you have a shower/bath, exfoliate the skin on your nipple. And try different creams. I had this too in both pg but it's gone now at 30 weeks! Good luck...
