PG test sensitivity

Please could someone tell me how soon before period is due can a PG test be reliable?

Period due next week but I'm really not expecting it to arrive

I've been feeling really very sick for the last few days, complete deja vu from PG with DS1

Must I wait?

What day is period due? Some tests will pick up a few days before but just because they are negative doesnt mean you arent pregnant.

I am a bit addicted to using them so use internet cheapie ones before my period then allow myself a proper one of day period due

I've got 1 test kit, think I'll do it tomorrow morning.

If I feel this sick there must be something going on hormonally, either that or I'm about to come down with a nasty puking bug .

Having said that I think they usually come on quite quickly not in a creeping 4 day way.

Am feeling tentatively excited in a very sickly kind of a way.

Well, been up all night with DS who has a vomiting bug

Did my test during the night and it was negative, so looks like it is bug related nausea after all.

On a more positive note, at least I'm not throwing up.

Ah but if your period isnt due until tuesday then that certainly isnt a definite no! With DD I tested negative the day before and had a huge positive the day I was due

Gosh, I didn't realise it could change so dramatically in such a short time.

I'll be patient and wait until at least wednesday if no show by then.

Still feeling sick but think that comes with mopping up vomit for 14 hours; also feeling exhausted but that comes with 3 hours sleep due to the aforementioned vomit situation.
No breast tenderness which was a major feature last time.

BFP or not I can see it's a lot different 2nd time around

Off to bed very soon, hopefully for a relatively peaceful night.

I didn't have much breast tenderness 2nd time around. Test again and use morning wee! I think I tested negative a couple of times before positive around period due date.

That's interesting Annamama, am still bf DS and if breasts get as sensitive as last time think DP'll be peeling me off the ceiling!

Nausea seems to have gone so think it might have been a mild version of DS sickness bug, will see what the next few days bring.

This will also depend on how far during pregnancy you are as the pregnancy hormone may not be strong enough to be detected.
