Hello everyone!

Put me down too please! I'm on baby no. 2, 5 weeks preg and think I'm due around 16th Sept (though my first was 4 weeks early so could be an August baby!).

Feeling OK but tired after running round after my DS who's 20 months.

Expecting the morning sickness to kick in around 7 weeks as it did the first time (but hoping and praying that I don't get it all!).

Good luck to everyone xx

Please come and join all of us there who are due in September. In case you missed the link here is the Due in September link for you to click on and join us. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Hi willthecatbejealous Im in Ireland so just have bloods with gp next week and dont have another appointment until 13 weeks. Feels like ages away. Am so worried at the mo - have been having a lot of trouble with my gallbladder over the past year tho no gall stones. Am in pain again tonight as attacks can be quiet severe and prolonged. Just praying this is a short one - am afraid it will harm the baby. I cant take any of the usual painkillers either so just hot water bottle and panadol. So think you are right about morning sickness - any kind of illness just sucks. There are times when it is so severe I cry too - think its just another form of release so v. natural.
Hope you doing well

OzKate · 19/01/2010 23:52

Hi there! I was very crampy pretty much every day during week 5/6, as if you're not already worried enough! Mind you, they were nowhere near as bad as my period cramps used to be. But it seems to have died down now, just the occasional twinge.

WhiteRoses - We've been umming and ahhing over the early scan, part of me would love the reassurance and another part of me thinks it's probably just best to let mother nature take her course. My doctor agreed and so did my Mum, who used to be a midwife, thank you Mum!!

I have a confession though, I used morning sickness as an excuse not to go to work on Monday, feel so guilty, I haven't been suffering from morning sickness at all. Will all those suffering from morning sickness please forgive me! I'll probably start getting it now!! I was really tired and quite irritable, does that count for anything?? Has anyone else called in sick? No? Oh great, am I the only slacker then?

I have no idea how to add my name to that list btw (??)

crazyh · 20/01/2010 07:48

Hi Madame - due a day before me! What did your mum and sister say?!

Mud - lucky you, getting an early scan - I'd love that!

OzKate - I'm a slacker too! Have just taken a week off work (not sick though - just a holiday!) Still, doctor advised to listen to my body, eat when hungry, sleep when tired, and at this early stage, I figure I might as well do all I can to follow his advice!

Oh, the list... Mine's; WhiteRoses - #1 - EDD 17th Sept. (My name - this is baby #1- estimated due date = 17th Sept.) And in order of who's due to have their baby first.

Congratulations crazyh!

Thankyou Whiteroses, just got a little over excited seeing my name on the edd list lol.

I have got a docs appointment tomorrow morning, as I am at risk of ectopic pregnancy due to my history of PID, hopefully should get an early scan to rule this out, fingers crossed its in the right place , no pain, symptoms etc. of ectopic so far so tryin not 2 think about it too much x

jen6jen · 20/01/2010 11:24

pls pls can i join??? im a bit of a fraud cos im due in may which makes me 23 an a half wks and its my 4th child but theres so many ladies on here who r my age!!! im 36 and its nice 2 hear stories frm pregnant women in their thirties as well....thanks. jen. xxx

MadameG · 20/01/2010 14:06

Hey everyone, well I had my scan and it was awful.

The idiot receptionist at the drs booked the dating scan despite both me and the dr telling her that I'm only 6 weeks pregnant maximum, but she protested that I must go asap and have the scan. So we got a taxi there, and then I'm told that they can't see anything and I shouldn't have come this early at all. I left feeling absolutely crushed and terrified that maybe despite 8 BFPs, there has been some mistake and I'm not pregnant at all. Sitting here bawling my eyes out at the moment.

jen6jen · 20/01/2010 18:17

positive pg tests r almost neva wrong hunnie and if youve had no bleeding or pain the chances r everything is fine. i had early scans due 2 bleeding and nothing showed up until 7 wks....try not 2 worry. xxx

MammyG · 20/01/2010 20:39

Hi all

MadameG was at docs on monday and she said the pregnacy tests esp the digital ones are rarely wrong. Just put it down to the silly receptionist. If she didnt listen to you she should def have listened to the doctor. Its just too early for a scan that all - your little bean is just shy! It will make its presence felt in no time at all!

Had rotten night last night. Got two hours sleep cause of the pain Im in. At work today and just wanted to shout 'but Im pregnant!' cause I look like a train wreck. Turns out this time its not my gallbladder at all but a kidney infection. Rather nasty one too. Have to take anti biotics which I hate but better than baby being harmed by some awful infection I guess.
Anyone any history of kieney infections? Are they reoccuring?

MadameG · 20/01/2010 21:15

Thanks Jen and Mammy, I haven't had any pain or bleeding at all, no. I've calmed down a bit since earlier and don't feel quite so shaken up. In my head I keep telling my little bean that I hope its okay in there, and that I can't wait to meet it- hope it hears me and is comfortable for the ride!

Sorry to hear about your nasty infection, Mammy- get some rest and relaxation!

SHYY · 21/01/2010 19:00

Hi all, can I join in? I'm due our first on 10th Sept.

I've already been sussed out by friends for not drinking 2 weeks running. We're out with another bunch of friends next weekend and they will guess straight away - I was enough of a drinker, just that no one not drinks when we're out, unless you're dying with a hangover or ill! Hmm!

Having been sussed out since week 4, things seem so slow! Sore boobs and going for a pee all the time don't help

WhiteRoses · 21/01/2010 19:33

Madame - so to hear about your day. What a horrible, awful woman. I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. Your baby is still very tiny. There's nothing to suggest that there's anything wrong. You've not had cramps or bled. You'll be fine - just think positive. If I were you though, I'd to your doctor and lay it on thick about the stress this has caused you and see will he/she send you for another early scan in a week or two, to put your mind at ease... After all, this was their fault and you shouldn't have been put through it.

Mammy - sorry to hear about the infection - sounds horrible!

Hi Jen.

MammyG · 21/01/2010 21:19

Hi All

Thanks Madame and Whiteroses.

Kidney infection is clearing already but it has aggravated an existing stomach condition. Had to leave work and not going in tomorrow as a result. Doctors dont know what is wrong with my stomach and any further investigations are out now. Doctor broke it to me today that I may be in for a rough nine months and may even have to go in weekly for fluids etc. So upset today - betweek pain and worry crying all day. Pain has eased a little now tho. This is most likely my last baby and just wanted to enjoy it.

Hey Shyy. When pregnant on my first I did two things to avoid the drink slip up.

  1. I drink vodka lime and soda. So just ordered sparkling water and lime.
  2. If you have already been rumbled by a friend have them help you. Used to do it with my DH If someone bought me a drink I would let on to sip away for a few mins and he would by the non-alcholic version would then run off to tell him something and swap over! A lot of bother but its only for a few weeks. Otherwise claim UTI.
lots33 · 21/01/2010 21:58

Hi everyone can I join too? I am 7 weeks pregnant with my first, EDD 09 Sept 10. I am 34 and in a same sex relationship; pregnant following IUI (third attempt). Very happy! Cos of the IUI and having so many appointments there was no point keeping it a secret...everyone knows! I am very nauesous, sore boobs and knackered but otherwise great! First scan tomorrow....

MammyG · 21/01/2010 23:02

Heartiest congrats lots33 Must be nice to have people know tho! Enjoy!

OzKate · 22/01/2010 01:25

I know this may seem an incredibly vain thing to ask, but has anyone had a definitive answer on whether or not it's OK to get your hair highlighted, during your first trimester especially.

My hairdresser says it's fine, but met a female doctor the other day who said she wouldn't risk it?!? Is that just being paranoid? Can't seem to get a firm answer.

I have to get my hair done, I look like I have a racing stripe down the middle of my head! xx

jen6jen · 22/01/2010 09:59

hi everybody...congrats lot33!!

ozkate...my best mate is a qualified hairdresser/ beautician and used 2 own her own shop. she said tht colourin an highlighting when pg is fine but because of hormone changes theres a risk it might nt take as well as normal...hope this helps. xx

WhiteRoses · 22/01/2010 11:18

Mammy - sorry to hear you're having such a bad time of it. But, even if you don't enjoy the pregnancy, there'll be nothing that will stop you enjoying your baby, and that's what it's all about.

Congratulations Lots33. As Mammy says, it must be really exciting, having everyone know. And I bet they're taking good care of you! You said it's your first baby - is it your partner's first too?

Oz - why not get your hair coloured all over, as close to your natural colour as possible? That way, you only have to do it once..?

MudandRoses · 22/01/2010 11:34

Hi again everyone
MammyG - hope you're feeling better
Oz - I had mine done yesterday - so I bloody hope it's not a problem!
Welcome to all new joiners.

I have been feeling really queasy the last couple of days. Didn't have morning sickness with my son, but i was in japan so i keep thinking maybe the different diet helped...
Anyone got any tips for general low level queasiness?
I am supposed to be starting tango lessons today, with DP! Bleeurgh! Don't know what i was thinking - tango's hardy going to be attractive with a massive bump between us.

lots33 · 22/01/2010 17:39

Hi White Roses yes it is her first too.

Mud and Roses...I am having that too, I am eating small regular meals, very bland and lots of starch! And find someone else to feed cats if you have any!

Can't offer any advice on the hair dye i am afraid need to know myself!

Hello to everyone else.

Well first scan was great, saw the heartbeat and have pictures so it feels very real now!

Take call all.

HellysBelles · 23/01/2010 13:27

Hi ladies, would love to join you.

Found out a few days ago and got a bit of a shock as wasn't planned - have just started a new job so that's going to go down well!

Have polycystic ov's so prd's always quite late but think Sept-time is probably about right!

Also before I found out was doing all the things you're not supposed to ... went skiing, drank loads, ate bad cheese, smoked, even had a colonic after Xmas indulgence, gulp. So now left feeling v guilty and just really want to know everything's ok.

Anyone in the same boat?
