Normal to have aches/pains in 1st trimestre?

Is it normal to have aches (very mild cramping pains) in the first trimester? I've already got my DD (19 months) but can't remember back to when I was pg 1st time around. Also is it normal to have smallest tinge of blood every now and again when wiping after a wee (sorry if too much info) - not all the time, just every now and again, very light, nothing that shows on a p/liner, just on the paper. Should I be calling midwife? I'm 10 + 5

Thanks

Hi RayB, I had the same at about 9 weeks - crampy and a few occasional spots of blood and everything was fine in my case. But with any bleeding, its best to speak to your midwife - at least so that she can reassure you, but she can also check if you have any other symptoms or anything. Mine told me that 9-10 weeks was common for (gentle) pain as ligaments were stretching and your womb has gone from the size of a plum to the size of a grapefruit. She also said a bit more implantation could happen at this stage (digging deeper I guess!). Hopefully nothing at all to worry about, but have a chat to the midwife - that's what she's there for. Hope all goes well for you. x

Littlepoot - you have just answered the question i was going to ask on here. Thank you! I am 9+3 and have started having cramps today (no bleeding) and was stressing a little bit. This is also my second but it seems so long ago with DD Thanks again
