Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could recomend a reliable minicab/taxi firm in the Clapham, Balham, Tooting area?

Anyone used a cab to hospital, how did it work??

A bit nervous how we will get there...

Giving birth at St Georges.

I am also keen to hear the answer to this one - as this is my only real option for getting from home (battersea area) to Chelsea and Westminster. Driving ourselves just seems ludicrous given that there is such limited parking available at the hospital in chelsea and normally big queues. If its the evening or middle of the night, i think we'll take the car and risk it, but if it's daytime, I am petrified that DH will leave me to struggle in to the hospital with contractions every few minutes, while he takes 40 mins to park the damned car... How do people in London and other big cities do this??

Try Addison Lee look on website(google search) - not sure of pregnancy policy but i guess asking will sort that out!
I know you must of tried other options before this post, hope all goes well with you.

I called Addison Lee and they don't take pregnant women to hospital and they don't know anyone who can!
I live in W9 and is due in 6 wks (give or take) and I'm not sure how I'm going to get to the hospital as we don't have a car.
If anyone knows any cab company, please let me know

I can't recomend anyone in particular, I don't think you'll find any mini cab that will WANT to take a labouring woman to hospital cos of the possible mess/ emergency situation in car, so just make a list of local cab numbers and when you need them, DO NOT tell them you are in labour!!

Honestly it's the only way, they wont chuck you out halfway there if they suspect you are in labour, but if they know in advance they wont want to take you.
