support stockings - help!

GP has prescribed me some class 2 support stockings to try to stop my varicose veins hurting. But I can't find a maternity suspender belt to hold the bleeding things up. I'm 16 weeks and already got a big belly, so it can't be the regular round the waist type thing.

Has anyone tried adapting a maternity support belt/ band? Or found an alternative? Not convinced about hold ups as surely they'll just dig in higher up. Knee highs no good for me either. Help!

You could try Pebble tights, which I used when my veins hurt, though they were not so bad that I had to go to the dr. Look at this page. They're expensive but they are fantastic. I got by on two or three pair for the entire pg.

Thanks for that. Great to have a response as I was despairing at landing on any more websites going on about how sexy suspender belts are...not the look I was searching for.

Did you have to wear them in the summer? I'm not looking forward to being encased in manmade fabrics when the summer we all deserve finally turns up!
