Hello everyone, first post! I'm 35+5 and in the last week I've been suffering with a cold that I can't shift, stress over being behind in my studies, and now I'm waiting to hear bad news about my Nan who is in hospital and may leave us at any time. I don't want to waste the doc's time, but do you think it might be worth getting my bp checked? My headaches and nosebleeds are probably cold related, but I guess a bp check might say otherwise. Also, I'm kinda hoping the doc might say to stay off work a bit longer (have been off due to cold and snow, but they currently have no running water/toilets in the building and I don't think it's hygienic). Sorry for long post & lack of formatting- am pecking this out on my phone!

I think if you have headaches and nose bleeds you should go to the doctor asap. You're never wasting their time, especially when pregnant as your babies health is at stake too! Don't feel bad, just book it x

I definitely think so, it really can't hurt to speak to your GP. Sounds like you need a break, and if your GP can sign you off work for a bit longer then you should see them. Also, colds can turn into sinus or chest infections pretty easily, so it's a good idea to just make sure yous hasn't become something that could be helped with antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon, and sorry your Nan is so poorly.

you should definitely get checked if you're having headaches. X

Thank you ladies - I did go and see the doctor.

rachelfl you were right - it is turning into a chest infection, so I've been given a course of ABs, an inhaler to take if my chest feels tight, and told not to go back to work until next week (and not even then if I still feel rubbish). Thank you for the sympathy.

tea&cp and heth, the doctor agreed with you re getting headaches checked out. Luckily it seems to be infection rather than BP related so the drugs should fix me .
