Have an ice cold and lie down. If nothing major happens then phone your labour ward. They may get you in for an hour or so just to monitor baby to make sure all is ok.

I had this with dd and didnt have a cold drink. As soon as we got to the labour ward and they gave me a drink dd went mad!

mama2moo · 12/01/2010 21:40

Sorry, meant to say ice cold drink

pinata · 12/01/2010 21:45

remember things get more squashed in there in the last couple of months.

If you're really concerned, ring midwife and see if you can get put on a monitor in maternity ward as mama2moo says, but with my DD and also with current pregnancy (22+6) some days I have lots more movement than others

depends which way baby is lying, maybe they're having a little rest - main thing I've always been told is the number of movements rather than the intensity. Both mine have felt like there's kick boxing going on in there on some days and nothing but a few gentle flutters on others.

This happened to me with ds1, I called the hospital and went in that night for a scan, there he was moving aroound on the screen, I just couldn't feel the movement because of the position.

If you are worried, call your hospital for reassurance. Fingers crossed for you

agree with the cold drink/ warm bath/ whatever normally gets baby moving test.

do call and ask for a check if this does not elicit a baby-response, as others have said, it may just be a shift in position, but you will only worry.

hopefully everything is ok.

good luck x

VerityBrulee · 12/01/2010 21:55

Good luck, I'm sure everything will be fine

kellze · 13/01/2010 00:02

just got home and as per the norm baby started moving once monitor was in place....

Midwife could not have been more amazing though.

So all is fine and will just keep an eye on things. Incredibly tired now.

Thanks for all good wishes.

mama2moo · 13/01/2010 09:16

Brilliant news, typical that they always move as soon as you get to hospital!

VerityBrulee · 13/01/2010 13:41

Oh that is great news, I have been worrying about you. Phew
