Get checked out at A&E, although it most probably is NOT, get blood pressure checked as it is (one) of the signs of Pre-Eclampsia

bubblerock · 03/07/2005 17:18

Migraine? Have you had it before JM?

jabberwocky · 03/07/2005 17:20

Any sudden decrease in vision should be checked out as soon as possible just in case. Hope everything is alright jabm.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 03/07/2005 17:21

Oh dear, I know it's not what you would like, but it would be for the best to get it looked at. I'm assuming that it hasn't changed since you first noticed it.

happymerryberries · 03/07/2005 17:23

Try not to worry, but get it checked out asap

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 03/07/2005 17:23

would docs be ok tomorrow?!

happymerryberries · 03/07/2005 17:26

I would get it checked sooner tbh, phine A and E or NHS direct first if you like and see what they say. But I wouldn't wait unless they tell you to do so.

bubblerock · 03/07/2005 17:27

Best to get it checked out today JM - why not ring the maternity ward for advice , they might let you go straight there for a check up instead of going to A&E.

SaintGeorge · 03/07/2005 17:28

Is it just blurry or have you got any dark patches in your vision?

It is more than likely stress but I really think you should go back to A&E and get it checked out, some things that have blurred vision as a symptom can be serious.

SaintGeorge · 03/07/2005 17:30

I mean serious for your eyes, not your pregnancy by the way. I have major eye problems and speak from experience. I really think you need to visit A&E rather than midwife so that you can cover all options.

Sorry, not trying to worry you, just concerned.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 03/07/2005 17:31

blurry and funny floating bits accross the eye.... makes sense?!

OP posts:
SaintGeorge · 03/07/2005 17:32

Yes makes sense - please go to A&E. They are symptoms of detached retina (sorry) and you need to get it checked.

Rainbow · 03/07/2005 17:34

If you don't want to go back to A&E what about the emergency doc or NHS direct?

happymerryberries · 03/07/2005 17:34

Get some one to drive you in now.

happymerryberries · 03/07/2005 17:35

Don't wait for NHS direct. this could be a false alarm but it is a symptom of a detatched retina

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 03/07/2005 17:38

on phone to nhs direct

OP posts:
SaintGeorge · 03/07/2005 17:40

If they say they are going to ring you back, then sod 'em and go to A&E straight away instead. Don't waste time please.

Take it from someone losing her sight - it is precious, don't mess with it.

happymerryberries · 03/07/2005 17:40

agree 100% if they make you wait get someone to drive you in pronto

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 03/07/2005 17:49

nhs direct dont seem to worried and reckon someone will phone me back.... slight headache coming on now.

jessica's mummy I don't mean to scare you but please go to A&E

when I was 32 weeks pg with DS I had blurry vision in one eye .. it was like I'd got cleanser in it and I couldn't clear it, an hour later I had a hemmorhage which knocked out the sight in that eye for about 8 months ..

go to A&E if you can't clear it

Twiglett · 03/07/2005 17:53

I was lucky I got back 99.9% vision but still have a small blind spot (very tiny)

SaintGeorge · 03/07/2005 17:55

Please, please, please (do I have to get down on my knees and beg?) go to A&E NOW.

Even my GP misdiagnosed my eye condition originally - and he was sat looking at me, not on the other end of a phone line. You need to be seen by an expert.

Twiglett · 03/07/2005 17:55

they had NEVER seen a case like mine before though .. it isn't usual.. so it might be something else but your eyes aren't worth hesitating about
