Position of placenta

Had my 20 week scan yesterday and all OK.

The sonographer did comment that my placenta extends both posteriorly and anteriorly. Does anyone know if this is unusual? He said he was making a note of it in my medical records so that after the birth the mw will know to check that all of the placenta has been delivered.

Are there any other implications of this?

Aside from that, I've been feeling SO rough lately. Like I'm hung over, but not iyswim! I've been drinking loads of water and am still being sick every now and then, but not overly so. Anyone else had this or any advice out there?

Thanks guys!

Thank goodness it's not just me! no idea about the placenta - sorry. I've got my 20 wek scan in about 4 weeks, so will hopefully find out more re my placenta's position then. However, I have similarly been feeling hung over, despite not drinking a drop! Stinking headaches and general tiredness. went to docs today, but nothing serious she thinks. Just keep taking paracetamol was her advice.

It's so annoying - literally feel I have drunk wo bottles of wine andsmoked 20 fags. i keep getting nicotine cravings, too, even though I quit ages ago! Hope you find out more about the placenta - maybe give your midwife a call? I'm sure she'll be able to tell you.

Good to know it's not just me Haggisfish! We went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago and I swear I looked rougher than everyone else at breakfast, but hadn't drunk a thing!

I have my 22 wk GP appt soon, so will ask about the placenta thing then.
