Might be wishful thinking but do you think its possible that my body won't let me go into labour whilst i feel so rubbish? Just don't think i feel up to it right now! (god i'm a whiney cow!!!)

You're perfectly entitled to whine! Late pregnancy is hard, and colds are horrible. Both at once seems very cruel.

You poor thing! Hope your cold clears up soon before baby decides to put in an appearance. On a positive note, if you do go into labour the adrenaline will keep you going and feeling reasonable enough to get through the birth

You have just described what I have been worrying about too! Although I am 37 weeks and just feeling like I'm about to get a cold as I have had a sore throat for a few days. Watching with interest...hope you feel better really quick.

I had a dreadful cold at 40 weeks and this worried me too. Didn't go in to labour for two weeks after that! I think there is a theory that your body will only start labour when it feels safe - so according to that your body won't kick things off now because it knows it's a dodgy time. Good luck anyway.

not quite the same thing, but before DD I had a hideous stomach bug immediately before I had her and went into labour while still feeling pretty rubbish. Not sure your body waits until it's safe - mine certainly didn't

Make sure you rest and eat, so that if it does happen, at least you'll have some energy. Good luck

Thanks ladies!! Clinging onto northernlurkers theory!
No sign of baby wanting to make am appearance just yet so fingers crossed this cold'll go soon (typed whilst force feeding self with homemade veggie soup in attempt to get more immune system boosting vitamins inside me!)
