Has anyone else had this? I have had it the last 2 nights - just on the fronts of my legs, but they are getting marked now as I am itching them so much - just put some Aqueous cream on from in the fridge to try to soothe it a bit but now it is bloody burning!

Anyone?

Yes!! Im 38 weeks and I dont it get it that often anymore.

I put it down to the fact that I was starting to swell up a bit and it was my skin stretching.

I tried Bio Oil and Sudocrem (not together) and I think the sudocrem was the best.

You should prob tell your midwife and get a blood test to rule out obstetric cholestasis (which I had with both mine). Itching is a common symptom for this.

I will deffo tell her - only seems to be in the evening though?
Deffo not restless leg syndrome - it is just the skin itching.

I've had this a couple of times too and it's a nightmare!

I second dinoroar's suggestion re:OC. I had it in my last pregnancy, but it was the classic itchy hands and feet which gave it away for me. Best to get it checked out though, as I believe OC itching can be different for everyone.

Hope you get some relief soon!

I had the same thing, at around the same time. It drove me spare. The only thing that soothed it was nappy cream (a Nivea one, I think) and avoiding bubble bath for a few days.

You're certainly not alone. I am 37 weeks and am suffering the same as you, really itchy shins in the evening/night time (plus restless legs). Its driving me bonkers.

I tend to use sudocrem and e45 lotion which helps, but its still a problem. I haven't mentioned it to my midwife this time around as last time i was pregnant, i had the same thing as she didn't make anything of it, like it was something she hadn't heard of being a pregnancy thing.

itchy shins was the bane of my life until my dad (!?) recommended me this stuff. beats e45, all other lotions hands down - used to scratch my legs raw before. pricey though ...

Thanks all - I have not had it for the last 3 days and it only starts once my skin is exposed - if I wear leggings it does not itch - if I have jeans on it drives me insane.
