31+1 Pain in right shoulder/chest/arm since yesterday, headache, nausea + vomiting (normal for me!) and blurred vision (only lasted about 1/2 hour though)

Midwife is in clinic tomorrow so could try and make an appt to see her then or should I go to GP or should I do nothing and hope it goes away?

Thanks x

I would call the antenatal unit for advice to be honest, blurred vision, pain in right side, sickness etc can be signs of problems.

I would ring your midwife now to be honest. It could all well be fine but if it is pre eclampsia then you need to act. It is likely that they will tell you to go into the ward to be monitored - or may well be happy enough to see you tomorrow. Someone might just come out and take your blood pressure.

Any news? Are you okay?

Karrierbag · 12/01/2010 10:14

Couldn't get hold of anyone yesterday.. Managed to speak to someone late last night who said to go to GP this morning so got appointment at 11:15. Pain in shoulder still there, head still aching and feeling rubbish so will see what he says xx

I'd go to A&E with that lot - blurred vision is not to be dealt with lightly!

I hope you have been seen now and not fobbed off.

Saw GP as I had to get sick paper and she was reluctant to take my BP, I pushed for it and she did eventually do it, it was 90/40 which is fine but I was in tears by this time so just walked out. She was horrible, just kept saying 'this isn't an appointment for BP, you have to see midwife!' Goin to try and get through to my midwife now and hope I get some sense from her!

xx

God that's awful, really sorry about your experience - poor you. You should complain. Blurred vision is a big sign of pre-eclampsia. That GP should be hauled over the coals. She failed to do her job properly.

You need to get yourself up to hospital to see a midwife and I would consider making a complaint about the doctor. I hope you and the baby are okay.
