I believe that spotting or minor bleeding is quite common during pregnancy but if you are feeling worried or think something may be wrong, call or go and see your GP. It is better to be safe than sorry and always good to have peace of mind.

I'm coming up to 12 weeks and had bright red blood at 8 weeks - was lucky enough that GP was willing to refer me to EPU for a scan (and a follow up scan 10 days later) which showed strong heartbeat and baba growing as normal.

As scary as it is, blood it not necessarily the end and is common. It might be worth seeing if you can have a scan to put your own mind at rest and it can very scary and stressful for you.

Hi, I'm 30wks pg and have had slight bleeds periodically frm about 6wks! Is a real pain to be honest but didn't come to an early miscarriage.(which I was expecting it to as I miscarried in April last year.)
I think as long as it doesn't increase too much or come with any discomfort it's prob nothing.(my midwife and docs at hospital haven't been able to find a reason for mine.. I guess sometimes it just happens?)
Good luck and hope everything works out for you.

Good luck, sounds like everything is fine, but it's always nice to have the reassurance of a scan! Glad your employers are being kind to you too.

Just by the way (for anyone else who's reading this thread for information), testing won't necessarily give you the 'right' answer - in the case of miscarriage, it can take weeks for hormones to return to pre-pregnancy levels, so tests can give misleading results.

tigger good luck on Wednesday. I bled at 7 weeks and it was terrifying, but a scan a few days later showed a healthy baby and I'm now 12 weeks and had a good scan today.

I'm sure all is fine

tiggergirl · 12/01/2010 09:02

thank you givecarrotsachance very comforting words just nervous as little sis lost her at 8 weeks but 18 month later just had baby. what can you see in the early scan taking the toddler i nanny for and a friend to hold my hand as partner not able to come .

if you want to know what ur baby will look like go to 3D pregnancy calender online.. i look at that every week lol...

if u need a link let me know but is very interesting as has a rotating 3d version of what ur baby will look like..

as for you bleeding.. i had very very bad stomach last night due to hyperemesis during pregnancy n i think i'm dehydrated so keep gettin constipation... not nice!!! and thats when i bled
i off to see mw 2mo then scan on thurs.. you know your own body so if u feel something isnt right then go see docs straight away... bleeding during anytime in pregnancy is always scary but i am sure all will be ok...

brettgirl2 · 12/01/2010 16:35

At 8 weeks it will look like a little bean with tiny stubby little arms and legs and heart in the little body beating.

Good luck for tomorrow.
