a little bit of protien in itself is not an issue, altough it can indicate the start of a problem

a + or ++ protein on it's own is probably ok, especiall yif your blood pressur eis ok.

if you have protein, swelling , high BP, then that would be more likely to indicate pre eclampsia, and ceritanly with visual disturbances too.

I have had protein in my urine at every single urine test since I started seeing the midwife at 7weeks! Sometimes just a little bit sometimes loads- every time it is sent away and it is always fine- they just think am a weirdo. So like lulumama says protein on its own can be fine.

depends how much it was. If you have any of the other signs of PE listed above call your midwife asap. pain below the ribs is another pe sign.

thanks for the replies. they sent my urine off for testing so presumably theyll get back to me asap if there is a problem. i dont have high blood pressure; infact my blood pressure has always been low, but it has risen at the last couple of check ups
