Midwife appts in last few weeks

I'm 36+4 and had a midwife appt cancelled this week due to snow - fair enough I thought and I haven't spotted anything amiss.

However, I haven't rebooked anything and I'm not really expecting anyone to be pro active about contacting me because the road conditions here are fairly atrocious. I was last seen at 34+2.

Does anyone know what sort of frequency of appts should be standard at this point? I need to know to chase if necessary.

Thanks

Standard at 36 weeks + is every 2 weeks, then after 38 weeks is weekly, round here anyway. I think it's just to assess your proximity to labour, position of baby and placenta and make sure no problems e.g. pre-eclampsia (I would look up the symptoms for this and insist on being seen if you have more than 2 of them as it's pretty serious)

I would probably just try to be seen at 37-38 weeks unless you have any problems or queries before then. That way if there are any problems (unlikely) they will know about them before you are likely to go into labour.

Do you know what position the baby is in yet, or had s/he not settled last time you were seen?

I think you do need to be seen in next week or so. Think they are every two weeks at this stage. I am 36 weeks missed my appt on wed and they rescheduled mine to next tues. And then will have another one week after which is already booked in. Good luck!

Im going every 2 weeks at the mo - Im 37 weeks today.

I am going to go every week after my 38 week one to beg for a sweep or early induction

If all has been ok I wouldnt worry.

How are you getting on? Dc2 has dropped loads in the last few days, I can fit my hand between my boobs and bump!! Fingers crossed it will be over with soon

i dont see the point in going at all tbh!! i find my mw appointments really useless, i just went today and thought that was a waste of time. But my pregnancy has been very straight forward and its my second so im a lot more laid back this time round. I think my next appointment ill be 36 weeks? but they keep cancelling me and rearranging so who knows really.
