Im 36+6 and decided to try it out!!

I didnt actually realise what it would do until my nipple was stinging like mad!!

I am still laughing at myself and have a very sore nipple already!!!

Just thought I would share that with you and warn you to read the instructions

What did you think it would do . When you breastfeed the nipple extends to near the back of the baby's mouth. I always found a breast pump more uncomfortable than a baby though

raindroprhyme · 07/01/2010 20:58

that is hysterical, made me laugh out loud.

I dont know what I thought it would do!! How funny, that has to be my worst pregnancy thick moment

They do look rather scary.

Careful though - nipple stimulation can bring on labour . . . Although am sure you won't be doing any more tonight.

MumNWLondon · 07/01/2010 21:24

personally i wouldn't use one until the baby was at least a couple weeks old because it would be uncomfortable - get used to the baby feeding first. with a first baby maybe better to wait longer still.

Ah yes, I remember the first time I used mine They do look quite scary.

How are you feeling mama2moo? We seem to chance upon eachother most days!

nknight85 · 07/01/2010 21:52

MaHobbit · 07/01/2010 21:56

That's why my pump lives in the bin.

Am hoping to manage without one this time round.

mama2moo · 07/01/2010 22:50

I wont be using it again for a while!!

wasabipeanut Im not too bad thanks. I have been getting on and off pains this evening but its not like period pains so I am not hoping for anything!! With dd it was in my lower bump, this is to the right.

I want this baby out now! Im 37 weeks tomorrow so I think its time!! How are you getting on?

Don't use it again before baby is here! They need to stimulate the milk to get the colostrum. You might start your milk off!

Just don't let your DP/DH try out the TENS machine on his goolies.
