what Signs did people have when they were near labour?

Ive been having really bad BH latley and have constant back ache, i also been having pains in my hips and adomen, but they go, no signs of contractions yet, but today i had alot of egg whitey mucus alot in the space of half an hour between but no tinge of blood, i am just getting sick of the pains, and i know it could be days or weeks before anything happens and just want to know what signs people had and when they had their babys just to ease my mind.

My waters broke.

I had lots of really bad Braxton Hicks and loads of discharge. It built over about 5 days until I had a show. My waters broke twelve hours after the show.

I had lots of thick discharge in the last week - bit like snot really. I kept thinking my waters had broken or were leaking as I felt wet but when they did go boy did I know about it! Contractions started as soon as waters broke for me. The evening before my waters broke I felt funny, couldn't verbalise how I was feeling just funny. I had no BH at all and no show.
How far on are you?

I was really grumpy. I mean rally grumpy, even for 38 weeks pg in summer.

No BH, no show, water went with gusto, contractions started, DS born 7 hours later.

I developed an irrational desire to flea treat the dog (who did not have fleas) and insisted on going on a 10 mile round bus journey on my own to get flea shampoo.

At 39+6.

I went into labour when I got home and made DP bath the poor dog.

QOFEisinatizz - you just made me laugh out loud!

I'm going to have to get my DH to hide the dog from me when I get close to the end. I don't want to permanently scar her!

The dog and DP were both looking at me with 'help me' eyes!

Had gone out for a meal, began to feel restless needed to get home and threw up when I got there, started having contractions within the hour!Egg whitey stuff came away about a week before,so for me it was not an imminent sign.

Massive flood of waters while nodding off to sleep at midnight.
Half an hour later, sontractions started. Ds born 9 hours later.
Hoping for similar this time.
