I am current 7 wks pg with DC2. After a bad experience at the QE2 in Welwyn Garden City when delivering DD 2 years ago (all fine in the end though) I am in the process of being booked to the Lister in Stevenage for DC2. However as it is slightly out of our normal area the GP was a bit unclear on the details of their schedule for antenatal care. So can anyone give me up to date information about
how and when they book people in? I understand it is via your community midwife?
do they do a 12 week scan?
do you get the option of the nuchal scan?
any other feedback also welcomed!

Thanks ladies x

Nothing helpful I'm afraid but I just thought I'd say hi as a fellow mum who had a bad time at the QEII 2 years ago.

Good luck this time round.

I'm booked at the Lister for dc3. Previously also at QE2 2.5yrs ago and actually had a reasonable experience with elective c/s but know an obstetrician at the Lister who thought it was better there (not sure how objective the opinion is ). I live in hertford and had problems with booking in because my gp was unaware that I should see the community midwife first. By 11weeks I called the Lister to ask why I hadn't heard anything and they were very good about sorting it out. When you see your midwife they should discuss the various options with regards to antenatal testing and they offer a 12week nuchal scan with combined bloods routinely. You are then given a number to arrange the scan yourself. Following you 12week scan, they arrange the 20week anomaly scan. That's as far as I know as I'm now 17weeks. Fingers crossed.

Hi there. I can sympathise as I too had bad experiences at the QE II with two of mine, one an emergency C section and the second a VBAC.

I am expecting DC3 in a week (gulp) and am booked into Luton and Dunstable where I have heard very good reports. Have you thought about that as an option too?

Good luck with everything.
