as far as I am aware, you speak to mw anytime after 28 wks.

bearcrumble · 06/01/2010 13:32

My midwife gave me the form at about 25 weeks and I've heard the money takes about 8 weeks to go into your account.

harleysmama · 06/01/2010 13:44

you can only apply when you are 25 weeks+ and it must be signed by your midwife.
It only took 3 weeks to go into my account that was 5 weeks ago.

SmacOnTheLipsUnderTheMistletoe · 06/01/2010 13:56

yes you need to be 25 weeks. I only got my form in early December as I forgot to ask at one MW appointment. Even with Christmas it only took 3 weeks to reach my account and I got a letter today confirming that my application had been processed.

stressheaderic · 06/01/2010 13:57

I had my 25 week midwife appointment at 24+5 so she couldn't give the form to me yet (I think they are quite strict on this), so I got it at my 28 week appointment on 9th December - sent it off that day and received the money in my account yesterday

hurrydownthechimneytonight · 06/01/2010 14:51

your midwife will complete some of the form then u finish it of and send it. You must be careful not to lose the form as they can only give you one.

My form took less than 2 weeks till the money was in the bank, alot longer for confirmation letter to say id been awarded the money.

Good luck!

rattigan · 06/01/2010 14:55

I got my form today and the midwife said to expect it in about a month if i post it straight away. Dunno why everything takes so blimmin long!

bigpreggybelly · 06/01/2010 16:27

Midwife gave me the form. I had it paid directly into my account within a month.

AnxiousBump · 06/01/2010 17:10

Hey guys...I sent my one in on 27th dec, and havent recieved anything yet?
Does anyone know how much longer it will likely take to go into my account as I wanted to get some baby bits with it before the sales finish?

cheers

kay1980 · 07/01/2010 08:30

I sent my form off last Thursday and was told by my midwife that it takes about 4 weeks to go through. AnxiousBump think you'll have to wait another couple of weeks looking at what people are saying on here

Nocoffeenoworkee · 07/01/2010 18:54

Oh Shiregirl you are bang on the money, I am 27 weeks and already fed up of no missionary position!

I'd like a big hearty whinge about my bump being sporadically hard and uncomfortable all day to the extent that I'm on the sofa under strict orders to do nothing. Now I think about it, what's my problem exactly?! Just worrying about why I'm getting seemingly extended braxton hicks - any tips or reassurance?

On my Bad Mother menu I'd like to request a starter of steak tartare with raw egg yolk and a noggin of fine single malt, followed by ice cold oysters au nature, then a salad of pan fried chicken livers, followed by a full on selection of unpasteurised cheeses - the runnier and smellier the better. All washed down with copious amounts of NZ riesling.

Thanks, and if I can choose a waiter please can it be Steve Jones?

Nocoffeenoworkee · 07/01/2010 18:56

Whoops, wrong thread, sorry ladies...

Bumbleconfusus · 07/01/2010 22:23

I got my application form from my MW at 28 weeks, sent it off immediately and at 32 weeks got a rejection letter because my MW had signed her name and dated it 2 December 2010, so it was recorded that my midwife had signed it after my due date (February 2010). I'm now waiting for them to reconsider. I really dislike my midwife...

BabyGiraffes · 07/01/2010 22:29

Mine took about 5 weeks, too. Quite silly if it's supposed to be a 'health in pregnancy' thing and arrives pretty much along with the baby

lola0109 · 07/01/2010 23:06

Hi I read this thread and then thought I'd check my bank account. My grant was paid in today. I got my form from midwife 3 weeks ago today and sent it off on the friday. So just under 3 weeks.

mazzystartled · 07/01/2010 23:11

it's free money!
(well some of your tax back)
i think it's churlish to complain about it taking a few weeks to check and process
and just plain daft to get it in less than 10 days (sorry AB)

Bumbleconfusus · 08/01/2010 08:24

it may be free money but if I don't get the 'free money' due to my MW's inability to write down the correct date, I will expect to be compensated by her for said 'free money', because I view it as my 'free money' which she has denied me of so far.

illuminasam · 08/01/2010 15:02

Please be aware and make sure your midwife puts the correct date on your form. I am due on Feb 12th but midwife put Feb 14th on the form, which meant I was not quite 25 weeks when I applied. The form was rejected and I had to reapply - I'm 8 months and still no grant through!

I got the rejection letter about a month ago, orginal one went off in October I think.

Amy4richard · 19/01/2010 22:01

I was 26 weeks last week and applied for my healthy start grant. When do I actually find out if I've got it? I'm also worried that it'll arrive when I've had my baby. Really confused 1st time mum please help xXx

Bumbleconfusus · 20/01/2010 08:21

If there are no slip ups on the form, then they say you should receive a decision within 4 weeks and the money shortly after that.

kellze · 20/01/2010 14:20

Mine only took 5 days max. Buying a new bed. That will keep me healthy.

rattigan · 20/01/2010 15:00

I finally posted mine on 11th Jan after refusing to walk in the snow to the postbox up a big hill..hehe. It arrived today so took just over a week. I was expecting it take ages! They must be a lot quicker now. Yippeeeee.

heth1980 · 20/01/2010 19:26

mine took 4 weeks from posting it. They've got a backlog of forms to process apparently!

SmallShips · 20/01/2010 21:30

I posted mine on 31st Dec and it was paid in last Sunday.
