Early concerns about missed miscarrage

I had my last period about 8 and half weeks ago but due to some brownish discharge in weeks 4/5 I was sent for an early scan. The midwife said that my dates could be wrong as it only measured 8.6mm and she could be sure that she could detect a heartbeat so I have to go back in a week. Has anyone else had their dates out? Am desparately hoping baby still growing?

I meant to say that the nurse COULDN'T be sure that she had heard a heart beat....she said she thought she saw some movements in some frames but not in others.

Have they given you a date to go back for another scan? How far gone did they think you may be?

I had a scan at 6 weeks pregnant, could see a sac but no baby. Went back two weeks later and there was baby 8 weeks.

I have had a missed miscarrage a few years back so know what it feels like to be unsure, puts your whole life on hold. I really hope all turns out to be ok for you.

Thanks for your reply I have to go back on friday. She said she could see yolk sac and embryo I think she said if my dates were correct e.g. 8+1 then it should have been bigger

I had a very small amount of brownish discharge at around the same time but when i mentioned it to my midwife she didnt seem that concerned and said it was prob just implantation bleed, i havent had a single scan yet, am booked in for one tomorrow and now im really nervous with all the things ive read about missed miscarriages.
