Worried these 'proper movements' mean baby is going to be huge.... :(

I am 25+4 and you'd think as this is no.4 I wouldn't need to ask questions like this anymore, but I can never seem to remember from one preg to the next.

DS1 was 9lb 9.5 but DS2 was 10 lb 12.5 though born without a hitch in a pool in the hospital. He was 4 days overdue. I had been booked for induction at 7 days over as I was so big.

I had to see the consultant with DS3 who sent me back to the MW uninterested and DS3 was 8lb 10

Have been to see consultant this time and it was the lady who booked me for induction with DS2. She says I can 'have 10 days over my due date then must be induced' I objected so managed to get 10 days out of her, she wanted 7. Nothing has actually been booked yet but I have to go back to see her a week before I am due to see 'how big I am'.

My silly preg brain is now worry as in the last 2 weeks, the babys' movements have packed a lot more punch, she has been very gentle/just swishing until now.
Now she feels like shestretches out completely/goes rigid and really pushes down on my cervix making me shout out at times and I am pretty sure I have only ever had that this early with DS2.

If it helps my DS was a mad mover - at about the stage you are at now he used to spin around, flailing his legs and you could see my tummy moving. It was like being on a rollercoaster and very distracting! He used to give me big kicks from very early on and just did not stop. He weighed 7lbs 7 oz.

DD was a very chilled out baby and I barely felt her move. She was nearly 9 pounds.

Perhaps it is linked more to personality - DS is a right whirlwind whilst DD is very laid back.

lots of room to move still at this stage - I had similar with dd1 but she was smaller than dd2 who hardly moved (appart from kicking my ribs near the end)

I also had big babies. dd1 was 8lb 13oz, dd2 was 9lb, ds1 was 9lb 11 oz and ds2 was 8lb 7oz at 39 weeks induction.
I am 23 weeks pregnant and have to be monitored later on to see if it is another large one. with ds1 I was induced 10 days over as I was enormous and very uncomfortable, he could't move properly but would stretch and was painful for me. he got his shoulders stuck during delivery which is why they induced ds2 at 39 weeks as they said he would be large at term.
Movements with all of them were uncomfortable at term but normal before then.

I aksed how large when I was scanned at 32 weeks - they told me 7ilbs

ds is 2 weeks now and was my 3rd baby my god did he hurt me! was so sore from his movements, but he was 8lb 10.5oz so not huge imo but my biggest
dd1 was 7lb 6oz dd2 was 8lb 3oz

ds was also back to back so all movements were out front

madmissy · 04/01/2010 14:15

i was induced at 39 weeks this time also and with dd2 at 38 weeks

Yeah, I forgot to say that while preg with the 10 pounder and for about 2 weeks afterwards, the insides of me felt bruised - the inside edges of my pelvis/hips, the bottom inside of my ribs.

I have told the MW I will know if this baby is big nearer the end, the same as I knew DS3 wasn't excessively big.

My problem is a needle phobia and if they want to stick canulas etc in me I'm not sure how I will cope.
